Why is the music community putting together this CD?

The music industry is coming together to produce a double CD set to benefit the victims of the recent devastating hurricanes along the Gulf Coast. The title of the benefit CD says it all, "Hurricane Relief: Come Together Now". All of the participating artists, publishers and songwriters, will donate their royalties to this worthy project. Not only do we want to do our part to help all the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, we also recognize that New Orleans is one of this nation's great cradles of music. We want to make a special effort to help musicians get back on their feet.

What kind of music will be on the CDs?

In order to reach a broad audience and raise as much money as possible for charity, the musical selections are drawn from both new and older artists from a wide variety of genres. While there are a handful of "heritage" tracks (pre-existing recordings), the majority of the tracks are newly recorded, newly released and/or live performances. The compilation will include music from a variety of genres.
