Who can use this information?

How does it work?

This site is built around three databases of information on Rochester's downtown. The information is kept current by the Rochester Downtown Development Corporation and the Downtown Guides (for more info check out the About link above). There is no charge to be listed, and we've done everything we can to keep the information up-to-date and complete.

To access the databases all you have to do is click on your area of interest and follow the very simple directions. You don't have to know anything about databases or programming, and anyone can use the information and its free.

What's here?

• The Doing Business area is all about business. It has a searchable database of virtually all commercial property downtown representing over 9 million square feet of space. There are also links to other economic and development groups on the web and demographic information about Rochester.

• The Living area of the site is for those of you considering living downtown or just curious about the lifestyles and rent prices of those who already are downtown residents. (Both vary widely.) You can search for residential properties by neighborhood, apartment size and style, and a slew of other criteria. There are already more than 2000 rental units downtown ˆú running the gamut from apartments to lofts to townhomes, and even a few penthouses. Curious about new units coming on the market? We track them too, and we'll list the leasing agent for your convenience.

• The Experiencing database is where the fun begins. Hundreds of restaurants, nightclubs, cafes, service providers, shops, and more are in there. Search by type, neighborhood or get every listing- its your choice and it's all free.

What is the Interactive Map?

The Interactive Map works in two ways. Downtown Rochester is a collection of thirteen neighborhoods with their own characters and features. The Interactive Map is a map of those neighborhoods. Run your mouse over the area you're interested and its name pops up. Click on a color-coded neighborhood and you'll get to a page that tells you about about the area and offers one-click access to all the database information on that neighborhood.

If you have already discovered a specific location by use of the database search, the Interactive Map will allow you to view all of the Commercial and Residential real estate, Restaurants, Entertainment and Services in the vicinity. It helps you get a view of what's around the location you're looking at.

What about the Neighborhoods link?

The Neighborhoods link takes you to an area of the site that focuses the history, character and future of each neighborhood. It's a more in-depth look at the areas.

What if I get lost?

This site is designed so you can easily get to anywhere from anywhere. The main navigation links are always at the top so you can simply click to go wherever you want. Explore! There's a lot of information here for the taking.
